During the FIS Congress in Korea, Fiemme2013’s representatives had the chance to be on stage and introduce a welcomed «recipe 4 success», but the meeting prompted also a series of important decisions with next season in mind.
In particular, important decisions were taken with regard to ski-jumping and nordic combined.
First of all, starting from next season, the coaches will have the chance to shorten the in-run of their jumpers. Until this season, only the jury was allowed to move the starting gate of the jumpers. In future, it is foreseeable that coach and athlete will also be able to communicate with each other via radio, to decide together what could be the «best tactical choice».
Another important decision was taken about the Body Mass Index for ladies, that will be increased, from 20.5 to 21. This change is considered very important, because the BMI is used in ski-jumping to determine the length of the skis used.
Furthermore, another important piece of equipment will be changed: the jumping suit. A new kind of suit will be tested during the FIS summer Grand Prix and it will introduce some radical changes, for example the fact of being close-fitting, in a way that it will become «part of the jumper’s body».
The last news is about the fact that, starting from next season, also in winter, it will be possible to use the artificial ceramic in-run trail in the case that warm temperatures make it impossible to grant a fair competition for all athletes.
